Rachel dettleff-schmidt
Rachel started dancing at the age of 3 and dance has been a part of her life ever since. She began assisting at age 13 and realized she loved sharing her passion for dance with others. Rachel was a part of Starbound’s competition dance team and had several performance opportunities, including Disney World. While pursuing her social work degree, Rachel was able to also take dance classes at Webster University. She has choreographed for Starbound’s competition team. Rachel has always loved performing jazz and musical theater, but she fell in love with teaching ballet. Rachel’s goal is to make ballet class fun and accessible to all dancers. Her favorite part of teaching ballet is watching students find joy in movement and feel good about what they learn. Outside of the dance studio, Rachel is a social worker/therapist, and enjoys spending time hiking, gardening, and hanging out with her animals.
